How to Record, What to Capture, and What Gets Rejected

1. Getting Started -- Download the App

You will record short first-person (head-mounted) videos of everyday tasks. This footage is used as training data for AI models that learn from natural human movement. The whole flow lives in one app -- download it, enter your org code, and start recording.

1.1 Download the App

1.2 Enter Your Org Code

When the app asks for an org code, enter the code for your program. This links your uploads to your account so your hours are tracked and paid correctly.

  • Org Code : 3JQTT5F4

1.3 Check Your Device

Your phone must be a supported model or the footage will not pass. The supported device list

2. Setting Up the Head Strap

The head strap holds your phone on your forehead so the camera sees what you see. A good mount is the single biggest factor in footage that gets accepted.

  • Mount the phone on your forehead at eye level, camera facing forward.
  • Angle the camera slightly down so your hands and full fingers stay in view while you work.
  • Tighten the strap so the phone does not bounce, slide, or tilt as you move.
  • Record in landscape (phone sideways), not portrait.
  • Clean the lens before each session and make sure nothing covers the camera.
  • Charge your phone or keep a battery pack handy -- recording uses power fast.

3. Recording -- Dos and Don'ts

3.1 Do

  • Do work at a natural, normal pace, exactly as you would on any other day.
  • Do keep your hands in frame whenever you are grabbing, holding, or releasing something.
  • Do record in good, even lighting so the scene is clearly visible.
  • Do complete a full task from start to finish in one recording.
  • Do keep your head movements smooth and steady.
  • Do make sure anyone else in the video has agreed to be recorded.

3.2 Don't

  • Don't hold your hands up in front of the camera just to keep them in frame, work naturally.
  • Don't make fast, jerky, or unnecessary head or hand movements.
  • Don't record while seated, seated footage is not accepted.
  • Don't pause for long stretches or stand around doing nothing.
  • Don't record in poor light, with a tilted camera, or with a shaky mount.
  • Don't record private spaces, sensitive documents, screens, or anyone who has not consented.
  • Don't fake or stage tasks, only record real chores being done for a real reason.

4. What Tasks to Record

Record everyday physical tasks where your hands are doing real, useful work. Each recording should be one complete task.

  • Laundry -- sorting, loading, folding, putting away.
  • Kitchen tidy -- clearing, wiping, washing, loading the dishwasher (tidying, not cooking).
  • Organizing a room -- putting things away, making the bed, decluttering.
  • Other normal household tasks done by hand.

5. What NOT to Record

  • Anything done while seated.
  • Tasks where your hands are out of view most of the time.
  • Long, extremely repetitive motions (for example, polishing or sharpening for minutes on end).
  • Staged or fake tasks recorded only to make a video. Record real work only.

6. What We Want to See

  • A steady, forehead-mounted view angled slightly down, showing your hands and fingers as you work.
  • Clear, well-lit footage with the task in full view.
  • A complete task from beginning to end, done at a normal pace with real intent.
  • Your hands are visible during every grab, hold, and release. Carrying something out of frame is fine; grabbing and releasing should be in view.
  • Natural, smooth movement, the way you would actually do the task on a normal day.

7. What Will Be Rejected

Footage is rejected, and unpaid, if it has any of the following. Read this list before every session.

  • Obstructed, tilted, or shaky camera, or poor lighting.
  • Hands held up in front of the camera on purpose, or other contrived, robotic movement.
  • Hands out of frame for more than 10% of the time while actively grabbing or releasing.
  • Unnecessary pauses or no clear task being done.
  • Fast, volatile, or unnecessary head or hand movements.
  • Extremely repetitive motion for long stretches.
  • Recording while seated.
  • Footage captured without proper authorization or consent.

8. FAQs

  • How long should a recording be? Record one full task. There is no hard limit, but most useful tasks run a few minutes or more. Keep each task as its own recording.
  • Can I use any phone? Only the supported models in section 1.3. Other phones will not produce accepted footage.
  • Do I record in portrait or landscape? Landscape -- turn the phone sideways in the strap.
  • What if someone else is in the video? Only record them if they have agreed to appear. Otherwise keep them out of frame.
  • Can I record while sitting down? No. Seated footage is not accepted.
  • How do I get paid? Pay is based on the accepted hours you upload through the app under your org code. Make sure you entered the correct code.
  • What happens if my footage is rejected? Rejected footage is not paid. Review sections 6 and 7, fix the issue, and record again.
  • Who do I contact for help? Reach out to your Hub contact for any setup, app, or payment questions.
